Burt's Bees uses a natural, sulfate free cleansing complex made from coconut and sunflower oils (called decyl and lauryl glucoside) that is both gentle and effective. They use decyl and lauryl glucoside because they naturally cleanse skin and hair by producing a luscious lather that gently washes away dirt and oil. This complex works so well that Burt's uses it in all their cleansing products for your hair, face and body, and it allows them to develop new products that meet your specific needs. Unlike harsh chemicals and detergents, decyl and lauryl glucoside do not strip the skin of their natural oils. Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Where are Burt's Bees products made?
Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.

Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
