Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash

Burt's Bees Extra Energizing Citrus and Ginger Root Body Wash combines Essential Citrus Oils and Ginger Root Extract with a plant-based cleansing complex to gently wash skin. Moisturizing Honey softens while aromatic botanicals nourish and rejuvenate for clean, healthy, beautiful skin.

How Extra Energizing Body Wash Works
Essential citrus oils and ginger root extract combined with coconut and sunflower oils create a wonderfully rich cleansing complex for your skin. Naturally moisturizing honey and sugar esters nourish and soften skin, while an abundance of aromatic botanicals rejuvenate the body.

Featured Ingredient
Orange Oil: Citrus Aurantium Dulcis. Obtained by expressing the cold, fresh peel of the orange tree, a smallish tree native to China and India, now cultivated in Brazil, Cypress, Israel, Mexico and the United States. About 800 oranges yield one pound of orange oil. Valued for its zesty and refreshing, sweet yet tart aroma. In skin care preparations, orange oil reduces puffiness and discourages dry wrinkled skin. Both the oil and the peel are used to stimulate circulation, clear blemishes, and increase perspiration, thus assisting the release of toxins from dull or blemished skin. The peel is used as a natural exfoliator.

Cleanse Gently With Natural Oils
Burt's Bees uses a natural, sulfate free cleansing complex made from coconut and sunflower oils (called decyl and lauryl glucoside) that is both gentle and effective. Burt's uses decyl and lauryl glucoside because they naturally cleanse skin and hair by producing a luscious lather that gently washes away dirt and oil. This complex works so well that they use it in all their cleansing products for your hair, face and body, and it allows us to develop new products that meet your specific needs. Unlike harsh chemicals and detergents, decyl and lauryl glucoside do not strip the skin of their natural oils. Burt's recommends that you check the labels of the personal care products you buy and look for these cleansers.

Burt's Bees Frequently Asked Questions
Are your products hypoallergenic?
There is no defined methodology to test for allergic reactions in beauty or personal care products, nor does the FDA regulate use of the term "hypoallergenic." Consequently, Burt's Bees does not position their products as hypoallergenic. A list of ingredients for each product is available on individual product information pages on this site.

Are your products safe for pregnant women to use?
Burt's Bees recommends that any expectant mother check with her physician before changing her skin care routine with their products, or any other line of products.

How long will my Burt's Bees products stay fresh and what is the best way to store them?
Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Where are Burt's Bees products made?
Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.

Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
Burt's Bees does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. A few of their products contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk and carmine.

I am allergic to bees. Can I still use your products?
Burt's Bees does not use actual bee venom in their products – only bee by products such as honey, beeswax, royal jelly and honey powder. However, if you are allergic to bee by-products, then Burt's Bees does not suggest using their products. They recommend that you contact your health care provider when changing your skin care regimen to find out which products are best for you.
