Burt's Bees Carrot Nutritive Day Creme

Burt's Bees Carrot Nutritive Day Cream offers all the moisturizing benefits of beta carotene and carrot seed oil in a sheer, easily absorbed base. Replenishes and revives dry, damaged, weather exposed skin, naturally!

How Carrot Nutritive Day Creme Works
This lightweight day cream is chock full of natural ingredients like carrot seed oil, which is believed to naturally stimulate skin cell turnover. That's combined with beta-carotene to nourish skin, avocado and almond oils to moisturize and aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. The formula is especially beneficial to sun-drenched skin.

Featured Ingredient
Carrot Seed Oil: Daucus carota sativa. This thin, yellow oil distilled from ground seeds is rich in Beta-Carotene and is valued for its soothing, relaxing properties. It is believed to stimulate cell renewal as well as the sweat and sebaceous glands. It is beneficial to mature or dry skin, helping to deter or reduce wrinkles. It also protects skin exposed to weather extremes. The oil has a heavy, woodsy, earthy, fruity scent.

Don't Just See Better, Look Better With Carrots
Carrot seed oil is the essential oil extracted from the seed of wild carrots. The oil is steam distilled from the dried seeds and is yellow or amber-colored with a woody, earthy, sweet smell. The essential oil is thought to be regenerative, cleansing and rejuvenating, as well as act as a powerful detoxifier and liver booster.

In skin care products, carrot seed oil is used to rejuvenate mature sun-damaged skin because it is thought to help to stimulate skin cell renewal. As skin gets older, skin cell turnover slows down considerably, making skin look dull and accentuating fine lines and wrinkles. By helping to regulate this turnover cycle, carrot seed oil helps skin not only to look brighter and smoother, like younger skin, it may help restore function so it behaves like younger skin. And that means the benefits last longer.

Burt's Bees Frequently Asked Questions
Are your products hypoallergenic?
There is no defined methodology to test for allergic reactions in beauty or personal care products, nor does the FDA regulate use of the term "hypoallergenic." Consequently, Burt's Bees does not position their products as hypoallergenic. A list of ingredients for each product is available on individual product information pages on this site.

Are your products safe for pregnant women to use?
Burt's Bees recommends that any expectant mother check with her physician before changing her skin care routine with their products, or any other line of products.

How long will my Burt's Bees products stay fresh and what is the best way to store them?
Burt's Bees products are made with natural ingredients. They purposely present our products in smaller portions so you finish them while their ingredients are still fresh and providing their maximum effectiveness. As such, we recommend you store creams and oils in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Creams may be stored in their cartons for extra protection.

Where are Burt's Bees products made?
Over 95% of Burt's Bees products are made right in their own manufacturing plant in Durham, NC. The rest are made by other respectable American manufacturers.

Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
Burt's Bees does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. A few of their products contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk and carmine.

I am allergic to bees. Can I still use your products?
Burt's Bees does not use actual bee venom in their products – only bee by products such as honey, beeswax, royal jelly and honey powder. However, if you are allergic to bee by-products, then Burt's Bees does not suggest using their products. They recommend that you contact your health care provider when changing your skin care regimen to find out which products are best for you.
